Lyon & Healy Congratulates the 11TH USA International Harp Competition Winners

The USA International Harp Competition, a triennial performance competition held at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana, took place from July 3 to 13.  Congratulations to Gold Medalist, Melanie Laureate of France; Silver Medalist, Valerio Lisci of Italy and Bronze Medalist, Mathilde Wauters of Belgium!  The level of talent from all the contestants was extraordinary.  Lyon & Healy Harps is proud to support this prestigious contest by providing harps, an onsite technician and, as part of First Prize, a Lyon & Healy Concert Grand Harp, up to a value of $55,000, and a Debut Recital at Lyon & Healy Hall in Chicago.

During the Competition was a tribute to the late Dr. Ruth Inglefield, USAIHC Composition Contest Chair, and her lifelong dedication to developing and championing new music for the harp.  The 6th Composition Contest Winner, Uno Alexander Vesje presented his winning piece titled “Life is flashing before my eyes and I realize it all started with a blackbird.”  His piece was performed by all contestants during Stage III, and we are proud to publish this piece under the Lyon & Healy Publishing label.
