Lyon & Healy Hall

Located in a 75-year-old brick building in the new West Loop area of Chicago, Lyon & Healy Hall celebrated its opening concert with an Inaugural Concert Gala, April 22, 2005, followed by a successful 2005-2006 Debut Season of the Lyon & Healy Concert Hall Series. It celebrated its fifth anniversary with a Gala Concert on November 14, 2009. The Lyon & Healy Concert Hall Series returned for a seventh season in Fall 2012.

Founded in Chicago in 1864, Lyon & Healy has produced some of the world's most beautiful instruments using old world craftsmanship and 21st century innovation. Today dedicated solely to harpmaking, Lyon & Healy harps can be found in leading concert halls and conservatories. To serious harpists worldwide, Lyon & Healy represents the highest standards in harpmaking available today.

Continuing this tradition of excellence, Lyon & Healy Hall is destined to become one of the city's most distinctive venues for the enjoyment of music in an intimate setting, hosting a variety of concert series featuring solo recitals, chamber music performances and educational programs. It will soon become one of the country's premier performance venues for the enjoyment of harp music, from classical to pop and jazz.

Designed by Italian architect Marco Tanga, the 200-seat auditorium has incorporated many of the woods used traditionally in the making of Lyon & Healy's distinctive harps - Sitka Spruce, Hard Maple, among others. The expansive space offers excellent sightlines and a breathtaking view of downtown Chicago as the backdrop for the stage. The upholstered chairs are comfortable and have been handmade in Italy especially for the concert hall. Care has been taken to ensure the acoustic quality in the hall meets the highest standards.

The concert hall and adjoining reception area are available to not-for-profit organizations for special events. Lyon & Healy Hall offers an ideal setting for concerts, lectures, readings, recitals, community meetings, children's performances and chamber music.
