Elizabeth Hainen, harpElizabeth Hainen, Principal Harpist of The Philadelphia Orchestra since 1994, returns to Lyon & Healy Hall in a special solo performance.  She has appeared as a concerto soloist and recitalist throughout the United States, Europe and Japan.  Having graced the stages of Carnegie Hall, Chicago Symphony Hall and the J.F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, as well as the Marlboro Festival, Ms. Hainen has won international acclaim as one of today’s foremost harpists.

Stickney, Sickafoose and Smith’s program will feature Mr. Stickney’s original compositions, jazz standards and reworkings of classical pieces in a jazz style. Final program will be announced from the stage.

Mariko Anraku, harpMayumi Miyata, shoAssociate Principal Harpist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Mariko Anraku is hailed as a manifestation of grace and elegance and has won attention as one of the world’s outstanding harpists.  She is joined in recital by Japanese sho player Mayumi Miyata, recognized as one of the first musicians to introduce the instrument worldwide through compositions by Cage, Huber and Artaud.  Together they will make their Lyon & Healy Hall debut.

Emily Mitchell, harpGary Shocker, fluteHarpist Emily Mitchell has earned critical acclaim as a marvelous harpist who captivates her audiences with playing of the utmost delicacy, beauty and subtlety.  She has been featured worldwide as a concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician.  Ms. Mitchell is joined in recital by flutist and composer Gary Schocker.  A faculty member of New York University, Mr. Schocker has won numerous competitions including the Young Concert Artists, the National Flute Association and the  New York Flute Club.  He is in high demand as both a performer and composer.  Together they will make their Lyon & Healy Hall debuts.
