Lyon & Healy Introduces Chicago Pedal Harps
Unmatched in value and sound
CHICAGO – June 1, 2009 – Its first since 1985, Lyon & Healy introduced a new line of pedal harps, called Chicago by Lyon & Healy: the Chicago Petite 40, the Chicago Concert Grand Straight and the Chicago Concert Grand Extended. Priced at $10,450, $12,950 and $14,950 respectively, these instruments are competitively priced for a student, enthusiast or the professional looking for a second instrument. “To provide more opportunity to harpists to own a Lyon & Healy, we wanted to build a harp with a clear and dependable sound, that was also very affordable,” says Antonio Forero, President & CEO. Increasing their value, the Chicago by Lyon & Healy harps are part of the Lyon & Healy Bounty Program and may be traded in toward the purchase of any new pedal harp of greater value within 5 years of purchase. Continues Forero, “The Chicago by Lyon & Healy harps are the perfect addition to our well-established catalog of instruments.”

Style 2000 Electroacoustic Harp Tours
with Ricky Rasura
and the Polyphonic Spree
The Style 2000 Electroacoustic Harp toured with The Polyphonic Spree, a symphonic pop group that features, besides harp, a ten-member choir, a pair of keyboardists, a percussionist, bassist, guitarist, flautist, trumpeter, trombonist, violist and French horn player. The Spree's first hit "Light and Day" brought the robe wearing 24 piece alternative pop band into the spotlight and their tremendously entertaining live show keeps them there. The Style 2000 Electroacoustic Harp was the perfect choice to stand out in such a large ensemble - the classic Lyon & Healy sound is amplified from the acoustic state through the use of transducers (pickups) on each string. Harpist Ricky Rasura is the featured soloist of the Symphonic Pop Band, The Polyphonic Spree. Studying under the guidance of Gail Barber, Ricky has taken the conventional wisdom of the classical harp to the unexplored realm of rock music.
Silhouette Electric Lever Harp Tours
with Phamie Gow
and TapEire
The Silhouette Electric Lever Harp was on tour with James Devine's Tapeire, the new Celtic inspired dance production that features the Guinness World Records’ “Fastest Dancer in the World,” (who clocks in at an astounding 38 taps per second). Teamed up with a motley crew of mind-blowing musicians, Devine infused Celtic Tap rhythms with fiddle, the Silhouette electric lever harp and percussion in an exhilarating hip-hop and funk jam session that celebrated the past, present and future of Irish dance. The Silhouette's innovative design, light weight and playability were ideal for such a lively ensemble. The Silhouette was performed on by Phamie Gow, award-winning composer and multi-instrumentalist from Scotland, who also plays the piano, accordion, whistle, and sings. Currently based between Edinburgh and Barcelona, Phamie writes and produces music for films, theatres and dance companies, and has collaborated with artists of the caliber of Carlos Núñez, Kepa Junkera, Alan Stivell and Alasdair Fraser.
