Awards Rules and Procedures

1.       The Awards are open to all harpists who have not passed their 35th birthday by June 1, 2011.
2.       Participants must be a member of the American Harp Society.
3.       Auditions will be open to the public.  Contestants will not be interrupted during performance.
4.       Repertoire must be played from memory.

Awards

The Lyon & Healy Awards will determine three (3) Award Winners, each receiving:
1.       $2,000 in cash to be used to further education
2.       $500 gift certificate from Lyon & Healy Harps

                                12:00 p.m. – Registration in the Music Commons
                                12:00 - 4:00 p.m. – Practice rooms available on a first-come, first-served basis to Lyon &
                                                             Healy Award participants.  One hour limit per person.
                                4:00 – 5:00 p.m. – Harp selection session for participants needing a harp in the Harp Pen
                                5:00 p.m. – Drawing to determine each participant’s performance time in MU287

                Saturday, June 18, 2011

                                9:00 a.m. – Lyon & Healy Awards begin in Voertman Hall.
                                12:30 p.m. – Lunch break
                                2:00 – 6:00 p.m. – Lyon & Healy Awards continue.

                                9:00 a.m. – Lyon & Healy Awards begin in Voertman Hall.
